GRAND KNIGHTS REPORT

Pancake Breakfast

Our first Pancake Breakfast held on Sunday, Nov. 17 was a huge success and a big hit. Leigh Bullen, committee chairperson asked everyone on the breakfast crew if they would like to do it again and it was an overall resounding “YES.” 

It has been confirmed that we are doing another breakfast on Sunday, Dec. 8th after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Same breakfast crew will be working the breakfast, but we can always use more helping hands. We all had a blast!

Operation Lamb

Operation Lamb is about to get underway for this year. This is a huge fund raiser for us to raise money for the mentally handicapped children in our area. We need your help in any way shape, or form. Call Dave Koenders at (704) 664-5902 to help or Leigh Bullen at (704) 663-5643 to help call on local businesses for donations.

CURRENT FUND RAISING PROJECTS

At the November Business meeting the membership voted and approved two major fund raising events for the balance of the calendar year. 

Adventure Books

The first project is the Adventure Discount Coupon Book for restaurants and entertainment activities the immediate Mooresville area. The books sell for $25.00 and can we can realize a net profit of $10.00 per book for all sales over 500 books. Proceeds from the project have been earmarked for the Parish Center Building Fund. All members are asked to sell a minimum of 5 books each. Sales will also be conducted after each Mass and we anticipate that this effort will be concluded within the first two months of 2003.

Parish Christmas Party

Sat., Dec. 14 will debut the First Annual Christmas Dinner & Dance Party to be held at the new Parish Center. This inaugural event will be an adults only function with tickets at $20.00 per person which will include dinner, dancing, open bar, and other activities. This will give our council an opportunity to interact with other Parish member and organizations. Please contact John if you can help out in anyway.

Raffle

In Jan. 2003, be looking for our first big fund raiser of the new year, called the Knights Raffle. Be sure to make the January meeting for all the details.
